Back to blogsWe believe that everyone deserves to smile with absolute confidence. That’s why we offer a number of dental services to help our patients achieve the smile of their dreams.
While we are able to help with a wealth of dental concerns from straightening to whitening, one of our most popular treatments is dental implants for the replacement of missing teeth. There are many causes of tooth loss, including gum disease, ageing, and trauma, all of which can be devastating. Subsequently, living with missing teeth is a problem that many people find upsetting and sometimes even embarrassing.
We often talk to patients who cover their mouth with their hand when they speak or smile, while others want to avoid social situations altogether. When missing teeth impact this much on a person’s self-esteem, it can start to affect things like work and career progression, and can even put pressure on relationships with colleagues, friends, family and partners.
In the past, the most common solution has been removeable treatments like dentures, however many of our patients seek an answer that is closer to natural dentition. This is where dental implant treatment really stands out, as the biggest benefit is the fact that they are permanent, making this the closest solution to natural teeth.
Dental Implants, Step By Step
• We will start by carrying out a detailed clinical examination, and then take X-rays and scans to ensure that the case is suitable for dental implant treatment
• If everything is fine to go ahead, we will plan the treatment using special 3D software
• We will then carry out the surgery to place the implant. This is the small, screw-like section that is placed into the jawbone. This treatment requires extreme skill and precision from a dental practitioner who has undergone extensive training.
• Depending on the type of dental implant treatment we are carrying out, we will either allow healing time of the implant, or place the crown (the replacement tooth) immediately.
If you have missing teeth and would like to discuss whether a permanent solution with dental implants could be right for you, please contact us to book an appointment.
